These Alphabet Poems would be a great addition to your classroom. Included are 26 fill-in-the-blank poems. Each poem is composed of several sentences that all have a missing word. Children can use the illustrations and word bank provided to complete each poem.
These poems hit on many skills including tracking print, decoding words, finding rhyming pairs, and writing.

Here is an example of one of the poems:

We like to use the three-prong folders to store a full set of poems for each child. In kindergarten, these poems are the perfect addition to our letter of the week activities. On Fridays of each week, we complete the poem for the letter of the week to review the letter, words beginning with the letter, while also working on reading fluency together. These poems can easily be used in other grades for an independent work choice. We hope your children love them as much as ours do...especially when all 26 are finished and they get to take them home to read!
