Monday Math

Happy Monday and Happy Veteran's Day! We are so thankful to all of those that serve our country.

Ahhh..those pesky teen numbers! Today we tackled them head on by having fun! Fun? Yes! Did you know all you need to have a good time is a spinner, a paper clip, a pencil, and a recording sheet? It is true and we have the pictures to prove it!

The children took turns spinning the paper clip around the spinner. When the paper clip stopped, they had to read the numeral and say it out loud.
Look at the concentration and the smiles! :)

After they read the numeral out loud, each child practiced writing the numeral as well. After a certain period of time, the spinning stopped and we compared which teen number was spun the most among the groups. The children had so much fun, they wanted to keep playing. It is a successful lesson when the children do not want the learning to stop!
More fun will be had tomorrow on Tricky Teen Tuesday as we continue to make sense of those silly numbers.
What are some fun activities you do to help your students with those tricky teens?

  1. Do you have a free printable version of this game?

There's so many free templates here. Print a blank one, add just the teens, and then make copies. :)
