QR codes are nothing new for us adults, but are so much fun for children!! They are just amazed by how taking a picture of that funny looking square can help them learn! The best part: they are having FUN while they are learning!!

These Valentine's Day themed QR codes are great for practicing CVC words. Each card shows a polar bear holding a heart. In his heart is a picture of a CVC word.

Children practice segmenting the CVC word by tapping out the beginning consonant, medial vowel, and final consonant.

Children then record the letters associated with each sound on the lines provided using a dry erase marker. After writing the word, we encourage the children to go back and check their answers before checking by using the QR code.

After they complete the cards, the children will use the iPad (with a QR reader already installed) to check their answers. To use these QR codes, you must have a device with a camera, a QR reader, and an internet connection when scanning the codes. You can download free QR readers from most app stores.

In the words of our children, "This is so cool and fun!"

We hope you like our CVC words using QR codes as much as our children do. Thanks for visiting!
Have a great week!!
